160 cars got the “Route of the electrified Olympian” slogan. Running boards were mixed
wood and steel. Beginning in 1968, the paint scheme was changed to large billboard letters on
the left and “The Milwaukee Road” on the right. Starting in 1968 the large lettering was
eliminated.

1942 through 1944 the Milwaukee built cars in their own shops 600 40’ double door box cars
with 12’ door openings and mixed running boards, but only one paint scheme when new,
CMSTPP herald on the left and “Route of the Hiawatha’s” on the right. Beginning in 1952
the herald was simplified to “The Milwaukee Road”.
